A second-year PhD student from the Department of Nanobiotechnology in the team of authors of the invention nominated in the X EUREKA competition! DGP - WE DISCOVER POLISH INVENTIONS.

A scientific team from the Institute of Fundamental Technological Problems of the Polish Academy of Sciences, led by Pawel Nakielski, PhD, of which Michal Pruchniewski, a second-year doctoral student, is a member, has developed an injectable cell and drug carrier. The biomaterial, in the form of an electrospun cellular microarray obtained with a femtosecond laser, is characterized by biocompatibility, biodegradability and controlled drug release, making it suitable for regenerative medicine therapies. The invention has been filed with the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland under the name “Method of obtaining an injectable biocompatible carrier for drugs, cells or combinations thereof, in the form of microscaffolds, a composition for administration by injection containing the said carriers, and its application” and the World Intellectual Property Organization. What’s more, the invention took part in the anniversary edition of the Eureka! DGP 2023 evaluating inventions filed with the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland in 2020 and 2021.

Hearty congratulations to the whole Team!
