About the Institute
The Institute of Biology at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences was established in 2019 as a result of the introduction of Act 2.0 and the resulting changes in the organizational structure of the university. The Institute of Biology consists of 7 Departemnts. The scope of their research concerns the issues of the biology of animal cells and tissues: Department of Physics and Biophysics, Department of Nanobiotechnology and the Independent Laboratory of Cancer Biology and various aspects of plant and microorganism biology: Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology, Department of Botany, Department of Plant Physiology, Department of Plant Genetics, Breeding and Biotechnology.
The Institute employs 136 people, including 107 research, teaching and research positions. Among them there are 11 titular professors, 6 university professors, 11 habilitated doctors, 74 doctors and 12 masters, representing various scientific disciplines, primarily biological sciences and agriculture and horticulture, but also health sciences, forestry sciences, and even economics and finances.
