Department of Botany

The Department of Botany at the Institute of Biology of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences is a research unit specialized in conducting advanced classical microscopic analyzes in the field of histological and cytological studies of plants and has a high-class human resources and a very good set of microscopic equipment necessary to carry out this type of research. The Department specializes in highly advanced basic research, including experimental work within three basic research directions: concerning the interactions of plants with pathogenic (such as plant viruses), symbiotic microorganisms, and research on the influence of metals on the development and changes in plants and in naturally growing populations. At the same time, the Department conducts phytosociological assessments in plant communities.
