Michał Jasiński (Professor, Head of the Department of Plant Molecular Physiology @ Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry PAS)
Prof. dr hab. Michał Jasiński obtained his master’s degree at the Faculty of Biology of the Wrocław University in 1996. Then he moved to Belgium, where in 2001 at the Université Catholique de Louvain, Unité de Biochimie Physiologique, he obtained a PhD in agronomic sciences and biological engineering in the team of Prof. Marc Boutry. In 2002-2005, he worked on a postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute of Plant Biology, Zurich University (Switzerland) in the laboratory of Prof. Enrico Martinoii. After returning to Poland, under the Marie Curie grant, in 2005, he began research on plant ABC transporters at the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Poznań, where he currently heads the Department of Plant Molecular Physiology. Research conducted in the team of Prof. Jasiński focuses on understanding the function of ABC proteins in plant physiology and using this knowledge in biotechnology projects. In 2020, he was awarded the title of professor of exact and natural sciences.
